“We have purposely chosen the more meaningful path to reclaim the fundamental right of mother, baby, and family during birth. The countless number of steps we have taken have become the path, and the seeds we have sown have grown to become green forests.
We are willing to choose harsh land.”
Peter H. Chung, M.D, Ph.D / Head Doctor
Embarking on a Journey:
Dr. Peter Chung's Awakening to Natural Childbirth
2007-2009
In 2007, Dr. Peter Chung found himself unexpectedly assisting a New Zealand woman, Natalie, who gave birth in her home. This encounter marked the beginning of his journey into attending home births, particularly for expatriates residing in Korea. Through subsequent experiences like aiding Amanda from Canada in 2008, Dr. Chung's perception of women's birthing capabilities underwent a profound transformation. This transformative journey led him to become a certified Hypnobirthing practitioner in 2008, further enhancing his understanding of natural birthing methods.
In 2009, his path intersected with that of Michel Odent, a renowned French Obstetrician and pioneer in natural birth, providing Dr. Chung with invaluable insights and enriching his approach towards childbirth.

Advancing Midwifery Practice
2018-2019
Our mission is to enhance the birthing landscape in Korea by promoting midwifery practice. Central to this endeavor is the recognition of midwifery care as a cornerstone of maternity services. To realize this vision, we have initiated support for local midwifery centers, embarked on journeys to explore international birthing environments, and facilitated exchanges of professionals with various countries worldwide. Through these efforts, we aim to elevate the standard of maternity care and empower midwives to play a pivotal role in the birthing process.

We strive to improve the birthing environment in Korea to foster midwifery practice. To accomplish this goal, midwifery care should be acknowledged as one of the primary maternity care models. We start to support local midwifery centers, explore international birth environments, and exchange professionals with different countries around the world.
